About Tamar

Hi there! I'm Tamar, the creator of The Siesta Project. I was born and raised in The Netherlands but caught the travel bug early on. Whilst backpacking in Australia I met my now husband. After years of travelling and living in different countries together we started our little family back in Australia. During the nap time of my son I started painting and really fell in love with it again. I've always loved painting but never knew what to do with my art nor did I have the courage to put it out there. I figured it was now or never so I started "The Siesta Project", the name was inspired by the fact that I paint during nap time, my son's siesta so to speak. 

We now have a second little one and have just moved across the globe to Spain! Spain has always been a huge source of inspiration for me so living here is fantastic. I'm so excited to continue creating travel and food inspired art and I hope to bring some extra colour and happiness into the world and onto your walls!
